About this Event
What exactly is it?
ROCC STAR is more than a workshop,it’s a welcoming, community-centered space for honest conversations, shared experiences, practical resources, and hope. Led by peers with lived experience, the workshop brings together education, personal stories, and meaningful conversations around recovery, healing, and wellness. Participants will have an opportunity to learn from one another, explore what recovery can look like, and leave with tools, resources, and encouragement they can carry with them.
Who is it for?
ROCC STAR is for anyone who believes in the power of recovery and community. This includes individuals navigating their own recovery journey, family members and caregivers supporting someone they love, mental health and behavioral health professionals, advocates, and community members who want to learn and better understand the recovery experience.
You don’t have to identify as being in recovery to belong in the conversation. Whether you’re seeking support, supporting someone else, or simply want to learn, there is a place for you at the table. Because recovery doesn’t happen in isolation, it happens in the community.

Info: Tracy Green is a mental health advocate. She is passionate about sharing how her experience of receiving a devastating mental illness diagnosis turned into a beautiful path of recovery that she now walks daily! Tracy has since earned her masters’ degree in Human Services, has become a public speaker, and now works with multiple organizations including ROCC Stars Unite as a presenter and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) as a state trainer, support group facilitator, and program leader.

Info: I have worked as a Chaplain for 15+years in hospitals and hospice. I am now working on a Masters in Public Administration at SMU, so that I can house homeless Veterans. As I work through my own mental health challenges, I look forward to helping people like me.

Info: Krys is a peer recovery advocate, presenter, writer, and the founder of Uniquely Noble, a company dedicated to raising awareness, advocating for mental health, and promoting self-love and personal growth. Through her podcast, Unique Conversations with Krys, and community conversations, she creates spaces for honest dialogue, connection, and shared experiences. Drawing from both lived experience and a passion for helping others, Krys encourages people to embrace hope, healing, and the journey of becoming uniquely themselves.
Dr. Joseph Guillory- Physician Champion, Co-Developer of ROCC Stars program
Host: Joseph Guillory, MD
Info: Dr. Joseph Guillory is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a clinician scholar whose work focuses on advancing mental health through community-engaged care, education, and research. Raised in Southwest Louisiana, his early exposure to health disparities shaped his long standing commitment to improving access and outcomes for underserved communities. He earned his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and his medical degree from McGovern Medical School, followed by adult and child/adolescent psychiatry training at UT Southwestern.
Currently, Dr. Guillory provides clinical care in a Transitional Age Youth and Young Adult Psychiatry Clinic spanning Parkland Health and Children’s Health, bridging pediatric and adult systems of care. His academic work centers on culturally responsive, community based and peer led interventions, particularly for adolescents and young adults experiencing suicidality and emotional distress.
