About this Event

Recovery Dharma Indiana is a part of the larger Recovery Dharma Global Network of peer-lead, Buddhist-inspired, recovery meetings.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a recovery support meeting, and is intended SOLELY for the attendance, support and encouragement of those in recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol. Out of respect and consideration for our membership, to create a safe and supportive environment, we do ask that only those who believe they may have a problem with drugs and/or alcohol attend this meeting.

Based out of Indianapolis, Indiana we are a peer-lead local recovery community that believes in each individual’s capacity for change, and ability to heal from the suffering that addiction causes. Recovery Dharma meetings provide a safe and structured environment for individuals to learn more about Buddhist-inspired principles to recovery, and to explore and investigate if they are beneficial for their own process of recovery.

We understand that ours is not the only path to recovery, and many of our participants choose to combine these practices with other recovery programs.

Standard Meeting Format: Weekly guided 15-20 minute meditation. A short reading from the book 'The Art of Happiness' by the Dalai Lama. Followed by a group discussion on applying Buddhist practice and principles to recovery from drugs and alcohol.
