NAMI Erie County PA is proud to present a free community screening of the award-winning documentary Recovery City, followed by an exclusive panel discussion with the individuals featured in the film on Tuesday, September 30th.
Recovery City offers a raw exploration of what it means to be in recovery, told through the stories of four women from Worcester, Massachusetts. Each woman’s journey highlights the courage and resilience it takes to rebuild life after addiction, while also confronting the stigma and systemic barriers that so often stand in the way. From regaining custody of children to creating peer-led support groups, their experiences shed light on the strength and solidarity found within the recovery community.
Following the screening, audience members will have the rare opportunity to hear directly from the women featured in the film during a panel discussion. Their lived experiences will bring deeper insight into recovery, resilience, and the power of community support.
