Record Store Day Is Coming! Record Store Day returns on Saturday 18th April 2026 at Intense #2 in the Meadows Shopping Centre, Chelmsford High Street.
Now in its 19th year, Record Store Day celebrates independent record shops, with over 300 stores across the UK and Ireland taking part. Bringing a stacked list of exclusive and limited-edition releases spanning rock, pop, soul, jazz, hip-hop, reggae, classical and folk — even a Sleepy Pokémon Beats soundtrack — offering something for every music fan! This year's features releases from Elton John, Madonna, Blur, Charli XCX, Primal Scream, Joy Crookes, Paramore, Look Outside Your Window, plus many more surprises. Brit Award–nominated artists with exclusives this year include Bruno Mars, Calvin Harris, Chrystal, CMAT, Gigi Perez, HAIM, Myles Smith, Olivia Dean, PinkPantheress, Raye, Rose Gray, Self Esteem, Sleep Token, The Last Dinner Party and Wolf Alice.

These EXCLUSIVE RELEASES will be available on a first come first served basis in store from 8am. For those early birds, we are asking you to queue outside the in the Meadows Shopping Centre main doors on Chelmsford High St queuing towards Barclays Bank and then just before 8am, we will lead the queue into the Meadows outside our shop.
For our worldwide customers the releases go on sale online after the weekend on Monday 20th at 8pm.

Meadows Live Stage:
This year, Intense Records & Emjay Sessions Presents the live stage outside Intense #2 in the Meadows Shopping Centre. There will live acts and DJs entertaining the queue whilst you wait and thoughout the day. Kicking things off is the 'unoffical resident band' MAGIC SEAS. Other live acts also on the line up include El Tel, March Fleet, GT William, Hot Rats. Ending the day, is our headliner BIRD.
DJs:
Outside Intense #2 in the Meadows Shopping Centre we will have DJs providing the soundtrack inbetween the live acts. Intense Records #1 at the Viaducts will be open with DJs all day. We'll also have DJs on the High Street. Confirmed for the Meadows Live Stage is Lucia Holm from Sunscreem - other DJs to be annouced.
