About this Event
National Reconciliation Week, is an opportunity to reflect on the past, current and future relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous Australians.
This year’s aims to keep up the momentum for change and encourage all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation.
This year The City of Salisbury will be recognising Reconciliation Week, themed: Be A Voice for Generations, with a free event held at the Salisbury Community Hub on Monday 29th May 2023.
Join us to hear from young and elder Aboriginal leaders as they share their vision of reconciliation and the need to keep up the momentum for change.
Speakers include:
• Uncle Rodney Obrien who is a prominent Kaurna elder, nominated Australian of the Year 2021 SA Local Hero and cultural advisor at the University of Adelaide.
• Mr Mitchel Odegaard who is a proud Larrakia man, resident of the City of Salisbury, player at the Salisbury Football Club and a former recipient of the Phoebe Wanganeen Scholarship.
