Sometimes as an Artist I destroy canvases, simply as they don't 'work out', this happening with a large painting I did recently...

The image made it to a skip, broken, destroyed and deemed worthless for a short while. Then I realised something, I was looking at it as a failure due to the scale, there were many smaller areas , 'scraps' that fascinated me, and now even more so.

These smaller series of works gave me new process, they have unity, they were saved and given greater meaning.

I want the viewer to grasp the sensation of painting as you experience an in studio atmosphere. It’s the torment caused through a working image that makes painting rewarding, as the paint is steered around the surface in hope to be ‘cured’.

This show embodies my process.
