Please note: To participate in Forest Preserve programs, the public must follow current masking protocol.
Enjoy nature while getting a little exercise. Join a group of individuals on a relaxing recreational bike ride on the Hickory Creek Bikeway. The ride begins at Hickory Creek Barrens, where we will bike on a hilly trail surrounded by a beautiful forest. The ride will continue down a short section of the Old Plank Road Trail before we turn around. The ride will leave from the parking lot at Hickory Creek Junction off of Schoolhouse Road. This ride is the final of four Rec Bike Club rides this fall. Other rides are as follows:
5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 9, at Centennial Trail
10 a.m.-noon Saturday, September 17, at Joliet Iron Works Historic Site
5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, September 23, at Hadley Valley – Route 6 Access
Those who participate in all four rides will receive a promotional cooling buff/headwrap.
Fee: Free!
Age: Ages 16 or older.
This program will be at Hickory Creek Barrens.

The route will be approximately 9 miles along a paved surface. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online (https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/americans-with-disabilities-act-information) no later than 48 hours before the program.
