Rivelino Rigters presents: REBORN by BLACKROCKSTAR pt.II

In the successful initiative called 'Share The Stage', the creative agency TBWA\NEBOKO makes its knowledge, resources and workspace available to creative talent who normally do not have access to such resources. This program, which includes both a workplace and an exhibition space, was created to increase diversity within the creative industries.

Rivelino Rigters, a passionate artist, talent coach and writer from Amsterdam-West with roots in Suriname, is the sixth participant whose work will be exhibited at The Arcade Hotel. Rivelino, also known as Blackrockstar, who advocates for youth in- and out of detention through music, visual art and life stories, sees The Arcade Hotel as a great platform to share his mission and message with others to get inspired!

The exhibition, with a special listening session of his 2nd single "Power", scheduled for September 27th, will focus on his personal struggle and recovery from kidney disease. His work illustrates the importance of creativity as a means of self-healing and social contribution. Al visualized in 6 invoking Images. At the opening and afterwards special Tees + Totebags will be available of which al proceeds will go to the Dutch Kidney Foundation.

“With my art I want to bridge the gap between pain and recovery, and show that someone's past does not have to determine their future,” he says.

A personal element in this project is the collaboration with the Kidney Foundation. After overcoming kidney disease himself, Rivelino emphasizes the importance of awareness and healthy living. His experiences and the support he received from the Kidney Foundation underline the need to involve this organization in his project. Rivelino has also released a special first single called REBORN. With 'Share The Stage', Rivelino hopes to not only share his current work, but also realize his vision for the future: releasing more books and albums, visiting more countries, and creating a global movement that helps young people in- and out of detention realize their dreams, talents and pursue their goals.

The exhibition will be opened on the 27th of September 19.15pm and will be open to the public till the 25th of October at Sarphatipark 106, Amsterdam. You can register for the exhibition for free via this Eventbrite link.
