REBEL TOWN The Boston Tea Party Musical is a New American Musical which tells the story of a young boy and his real-life involvement in one of the most significant nights in American history: the Boston Tea Party. Berkshire County native and BCC alum, John Alan Segalla, created REBEL TOWN - writing the book, music, and lyrics - and he is the Lead Producer for this fully staged, world-premiere production of REBEL TOWN. REBEL TOWN premieres in May of 2024 at Berkshire Community College. The show is co-produced by Rebel Town Productions and Berkshire Community College and will feature BCC students and a diverse cast of local professional actors, musicians, alumni, and community members. More about REBEL TOWN: As the tea crisis brews in 1773 Boston, the Sons and Daughters of Liberty are ready to take action to prevent the unloading of 92,000 pounds of ill-taxed loose-leaf tea shipped from England. In a single night of peaceful protest, the revolutionaries take a stand for their rights while sending a message to King George III which reverberates through time and carries similar weight today. Approximately 250 years later, we celebrate the Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party as a significant event which helped to ignite the American Revolution and has played a large role in shaping our American identity today.
REBEL TOWN The Boston Tea Party Musical will be performed in the Robert Boland Theatre at Berkshire Community College on May 3, 4, 10, and 11 at 7 pm; and on May 5 and 12 at 2 pm. Tickets are available at onthestage.com and can be found at https://bit.ly/43CrBNi.
This production of REBEL TOWN is directed by Tommy Towne with Musical Direction by Carlton Maaia and Choreography by Kristine Waterman. Technical Direction by Alzie Mercado, Set Design by Ron Piazza, Costume Design by Kara May, Lighting Design by Chris Konstantinidis, and Co-Produced by Jen McMahon.
