Rebecca Porter infuses her music with raw authenticity, characterized by her honey-smooth voice and sharp, irreverent songwriting. Her musical journey began over a decade ago in local cover bands, where she gained acclaim before redirecting her creativity during the pandemic. This shift led to the release of two impactful EPs: Prime Rainbow Conditions and Queen of the Local, the latter sparking her rise to national and international recognition. Recently, she joined Rissi Palmer's esteemed Color Me Country Class of 2024 and made her debut on NPR's Mountain Stage. Ed Helms, editor of Good Country & The Bluegrass Situation, featured Porter on his curated playlist, 'Ed's Picks'. These milestones reflect Porter's artistic evolution and her ability to connect with audiences, transcending her local roots and showcasing the transformative power of storytelling through music.
Max Lane:
Deep south Louisiana roots, replanted in central North Carolina, Max Lane’s honest and raw country music is influenced by the sounds of his two homes. Growing up singing gospel and country hymns, he brings a dirty south soul to his music. Influenced by artists like Sturgill Simpson, John Moreland, Townes Van Zandt, and John Prine he has a wide range of sounds. Max can burn it down or sing it slow and sad enough to make you cry, either way, he aims to make you feel something.
Jason Bales:
Jason Bales is one half of the songwriting duo behind Durham, NC Americana/rock and roll band The Yardarm. Prior to starting The Yardarm in 2017, he played in Lansing, MI twang-rockers Flatfoot with his brother Aaron, recording three albums before moving to NC in 2007. Along with Yardarm shows, Jason plays solo shows that showcase original songs not typically played in sets with The Yardarm and delve into covers that have influenced his songwriting.
