About this Event
Real-World Skills & Readiness Lab™: Acute Care Edition
This is not a lecture. This is hands-on, simulation-based clinical training designed for nurses, new grads, IENs, and students who want to feel genuinely prepared for the acute care environment — not just technically trained, but ready.
Whether you're a new graduate stepping into your first hospital role, an internationally educated nurse building your Canadian practice, or an experienced nurse looking to sharpen your acute care skills, this lab was built for you.
📍 What You'll Practice
Airway management and respiratory distress response
Phlebotomy access and blood draw management
Rapid clinical deterioration recognition and response
Management of acute scenarios: sepis and shock
Clinical decision-making and escalation communication
🧠 How It Works
Sessions are delivered in a small-group format at the ND Simulation Centre, using real clinical equipment and scenario-based learning. You won't just watch — you'll do. Every skill is paired with the clinical rationale behind it, so you leave with both the technique and the understanding.
👩⚕️ Your Facilitators
Led by Lucy Kpiebewieng, MN, RN, GNC(C) — Registered Nurse, Nursing Faculty, Advanced Practice Nurse Educator, and Founder of Nurse Decoded — alongside Christian Sunga, CCAA, RN — Critical Care Nurse and Anesthesia Assistant with 16+ years of clinical experience and ACLS/PALS/BLS Instructor certification.
📋 A Note on Documentation
While this session is not an accredited program, a Certificate of Completion document is provided upon completion.
⚡ Spots are limited. This is a small-group format designed for optimal simulation learning.
