Real Estate Closings and the Construction Lien

You are cordially invited to the annual meeting of the Central Florida Real Estate Attorneys' Council. We will conduct a short business meeting and afterwards a seminar will be presented on Real Estate Closings and the Construction Lien by Chris Cathcart, Esq. of Cathcart Law Group, P.A.

Chris Cathcart is a 1981 graduate of California State University Long Beach with a degree in Finance and a 1984 graduate Florida State University College of Law. Since becoming a member of the Florida Bar in 1984, Cathcart has been practicing primarily real estate law and is a Board Certified Specialist in Real Estate with the Florida Bar.

Mr. Cathcart will present a detailed discussion of the impact of Construction Liens on a real estate closing including, Notices of Commencement, Notice to Owner and Lis Pendens. He will also discuss remedies to clear these liens and how they are addressed in the Florida Realtors®/Florida Bar Contract for Residential Purchase & Sale.

This seminar is Florida Bar approved for 1.0 General Credit and .5 Construction Law credit.
