المعرض من تنسيق سحر بحيري
في مشروعه "مستعد للرحيل"، يوظف سامح الطويل السيارة إلى رمز قوي للهجرة والهوية والاقتلاع. باستخدام مجموعة من المتعلقات الشخصية والأشياء المكتشفة والرموز الثقافية والصوتيات، يغوص الطويل في التوتر العاطفي والاضطراب بين الرغبة في الحركة وعدم القدرة على ترك الماضي.
السيارة المحملة بالأغراض المغطاة بالبلاستيك الشفاف، والتي تحتوي على متعلقات شخصية، تصبح رمزًا معلقًا بين الحركة والجمود. أشياء مثل ألعاب الطفولة والرموز الدينية ترمز إلى تردد عاطفي في قرار الرحيل، بينما يغلف البلاستيك هذه الذكريات ليحفظها أو ربما يخنقها في الوقت ذاته.
النغمات المصرية الهجينة، التي تُبث عبر مكبرات صوت العمل المركب، تضيف بعدًا سمعيًا يعمق من الأثر العاطفي للعمل، ما يربط بين سكون المركبة وحركة الذاكرة. غياب العنصر البشري يعزز مشاعر متناقضة بين سكون الرحلة او استعدادها المستمر للتحرك، ما يعكس فكرة الهجرة كعملية مستمرة بدون نهاية.
ختاماَ، يعكس مشروع مستعد للرحيل تجربة الطويل مع الفن والهجرة، حيث تلتقي أشياء وأصوات من هنا ومن هناك في مكان وزمان واحد معاً للتأمل في فكرة الهوية والانتماء.

In his project Ready to Go, Sameh El Tawil transforms a car into a powerful symbol of migration, identity and displacement. Using a collection of personal belongings, found objects, cultural symbols and soundscapes, Al Tawil delves into the emotional tension and turmoil between the desire to move and the inability to leave the past.
The car, covered in transparent plastic wrap and piled with personal belongings, becomes a symbol suspended between movement and immobility. Objects such as childhood toys and religious symbols suggest an emotional reluctance to depart, while the plastic wraps these memories, preserving or perhaps suffocating them simultaneously.

This creates a haunting effect, where memories are present but remain inaccessible, echoing Derrida's idea of "hauntology."
The hybrid Egyptian music broadcasted through megaphones adds an auditory dimension that deepens the work's emotional impact, connecting the stillness of the installation to the ongoing movement of memory. The absence of a human element suggests a stalled journey, reinforcing the theme of migration as a process rather than a destination.
Ultimately, the project reflects Al Tawil's experience with art and migration, where objects and sounds from here and there in one place and time come together to reflect on the idea of identity and belonging.
