Join AGU for a Climate Week NYC 2024 Event!
About this Event

For the past two years AGU has been engaged with a broad array of global stakeholders working to create a framework to guide research, experimentation, and deployment on climate intervention or geoengineering. Later this fall, the ethical framework will be formally released.

Climate Week 2024 provides an ideal forum to look at this ambitious initiative as a jumping off point to a larger discussion on how we can build coalitions and working relationships among disparate parties.

What better place to do this than in partnership than the New York Climate Exchange which will advance principles of holistic collaboration and solution building with an emphasis on justice and community. Come and learn more about how a possible code of conduct could guide this rapidly changing field and operate across borders, fields of study, and industries.

Featured panelists include:

  • Janice R. Lachance, Interim Executive Director & CEO, AGU
  • Shuchi Talati, Ph.D. & Founder & Executive Director, The Alliance for Just Deliberation on Solar Geoengineering
  • Dr. Joshua Elliot, Chief Scientist, Renaissance Philanthropy - renaissancephilanthropy.org
  • Kevin Reed, Associate Provost for Climate and Sustainability Programming at Stony Brook University and Chief Climate Scientist at The New York Climate Exchange
