#readtheworld book club: Cuba

This time, our #readtheworld book club takes us to Cuba. We'll be discussing The Tyranny of Flies by Elaine Vilar Madruga, a disturbing and powerful novel that explores how political oppression seeps into the most intimate spaces.

ABOUT #READTHEWORLD

At Parent(h)esis, we feature a different country every couple of months with a curated selection of books by authors from that country, as well as books about it, spanning all genres in both Spanish and English.

With #readtheworld book club we want to take this exploration a step further. Our goal is ambitious yet exciting: we want to discover the world together with you, exploring books and authors from corners of the planet that we may not know well or may not have read before.

Every time, we choose a book written by an author from our featured country, available in both Spanish and English, and organize two sessions: one in each language. What's most special is that each session is coordinated by someone from the country we’re exploring.
