Join Cecil Pride for our new Voices & Visibility Book Club 📚🌈 — a welcoming community space focused on reading, exploring, and uplifting voices that are often underrepresented, unheard, or pushed to the margins.

Our first gathering will take place on Tuesday, June 9 at 6:00 PM in the Elkton Library Meeting Room.

This book club will center stories and authors from marginalized communities, including LGBTQIA+ voices, Black and Brown authors, trans voices, disabled voices, and others whose stories deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

We believe books can help build empathy, understanding, visibility, and connection — and this space is designed to encourage thoughtful conversation in a relaxed, inclusive environment.

📖 Our First Book:
Everyone In This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily Austin

What to expect:
• A welcoming and judgment-free discussion space
• Conversations centered around visibility, identity, and lived experiences
• Opportunities to connect with community through storytelling and shared perspectives
• A book club open to both passionate readers and those just getting back into reading

You do not need to be an expert reader or literary critic to join us — just bring yourself and an open mind.

Important Information:
• This book club is open to all ages
• Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
• We strongly encourage parents and guardians to review & read each book beforehand to determine if the content is appropriate for their child and family
