About this Event
Our living room transforms into a reading room, activating the Leslie-Lohman bookstore of art books, novels, theory and poetry for our iteration of Fall of Freedom, a nationwide call to the arts community to unite in creative resistance.
Leaning into the power of queer written word and resisting censorship, we convert our living room gallery into a space for collective knowledge sharing, pulling out our bookstore inventory for folks to slow down, read, and reflect together. The Leslie-Lohman catalogue of books, available for purchase online and in-person, and curatorial programs intersect and develop in tandem, allowing for a wide network of knowledge bases to interplay in one place, all honoring our commitment to nurturing queer art and artists. This reading room activation invites guests to come together to investigate what nurturing new meanings and non-hierarchical forms of knowledge can look like.
No registration necessary– come as you are. All works will be discounted for purchase!
Accessibility
Limited seating and chairs with backs will be available. Small moveable stools are located across the gallery. Located at 26 Wooster Street, the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art strives to provide a welcoming environment to all visitors. Five external steps lead to our entrance doors: a wheelchair lift is available. All galleries are wheelchair-accessible, and a single-occupancy accessible restroom is located behind the visitor services desk: all restrooms are gender-neutral. Large print didactics are available.
For questions or access requests, please email [email protected] with 1 week advance of your visit.
