Reading Real Estate Hackers — September Meetup featuring David Wise
About this Event
Whether you've been investing for years or you're just getting started, this is the room you want to be in tonight.
Every month, Reading Real Estate Hackers brings together investors, lenders, contractors, vendors, and community builders right here in Berks County — and this month's guest might be the most complete entrepreneur we've ever put in front of the mic.
📍 Reading Airport — across the hall from Klinger's Restaurant
🗓 Tuesday, September 1, 2026 | 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
🎤 Featured Speaker: David Wise — Award-Winning Entrepreneur | Founder of Pinky's Junk Removal | Co-Owner of Overlook Retreat PA
Most speakers bring one great story. David Wise brings three.
Story #1: The Empire. Over nearly 20 years in the junk removal industry, David built and operated six franchise locations, landed his companies on the Inc. 5000 list, and was named the U.S. Small Business Administration's Small Business Person of the Year in 2012. Then he sold everything.
Story #2: The Comeback. Instead of retiring, David rethought the entire customer experience and built his own brand from the ground up: Pinky's Junk Removal — launched in Virginia's Hampton Roads region and brought home to Berks County in 2026. Estate cleanouts, rental turnovers, rehab debris — the exact work that keeps your deals moving.
Story #3: The Retreat. Alongside his wife Lauren, David owns and operates Overlook Retreat PA — a 100-acre private luxury resort estate in Sinking Spring hosting 16–30 guests, complete with a resort-style pool, hot tub, sports court, stocked fishing pond, professional gym, and a full wellness hub with an XL cold plunge, cedar sauna, and red-light therapy. It holds a perfect 5.0 rating and Airbnb's "Guest Favorite" badge as one of the most loved homes on the platform.
Service business scaling. Exits. Luxury short-term rentals. Hospitality-level guest experience. One speaker, one night, ten feet away from your seat.
And here's the kicker: David grew up in Mohnton and has never lived more than five miles from the house he was raised in. Everything he's built, he built right here.
