Reading of The Raven

Join us on Wednesday evening (18/11) at 7pm as local artist Lizzie Tollemache brings us her rendition of Edgar Allan Poe’s haunting poem, ‘The Raven’ in our current exhibition 'Jason Greig: Blood is Thicker'.
Gothic shadows, werewolves and Old Masters collide in a twist on the classic survey, as this landmark exhibition pairs Ōtautahi Christchurch artist Jason Greig’s darkly compelling works with gothic masterpieces by Goya, Redon and other nineteenth-century visionaries. Together, they reveal a dark lineage where printer’s ink flows like blood through art history’s veins.
Greig is the romantic, old soul of Aotearoa New Zealand art, and his figurative monoprints and paintings are deeply immersed in literary, historical and mythical themes.
