About the event:
📚 Discover the joy of reading with the Little Red Reading Van parked at River Hall!
Families can drop in anytime between 12–3pm to explore outdoor reading areas and enjoy books for children of all ages.
🪑 Cozy book nooks + engaging read-aloud storytimes at 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30.
🦙 Don’t miss Allen the Alpaca at 3pm!

About Little Red Reading House & Van:
- A real house in Calgary’s Inglewood neighbourhood, devoted to fostering early literacy and a love of reading.
- The Little Red Reading Van brings this magic out into the community, visiting schools, parks, and events all summer.
- Proudly stewarded by the Owerko Centre at the University of Calgary, with support from the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Pop-ups & activities:
📖 Mobile Adventure Playgrounds (11-2pm)
- A self-directed, drop-in program using loose parts and natural materials to spark active, creative outdoor play.
- Kids can build, demolish, and imagine using boards, tires, tape, cardboard, and more.
- A dynamic space where children explore and create their own adventures.

🍥 Big Buns Club (12–4pm)
- Started in 2020, inspired by founder Eli’s grandma’s recipe.
- What began as a small batch of homemade cinnamon buns grew into a community-fueled bakery built on nostalgia, creativity, and simple joys.
- Today, Eli and his wife Maria lead the Big Buns team with a commitment to people first, quality, and kindness in every batch.
