About this Event
Half a million Medicaid recipients. One state partnership. A platform that doesn't just deliver telehealth - it reaches the patients everyone else has given up on.
In June, BigHeart's Charles Oyibo joins us at mHUB to walk through how a Chicago-built engagement engine became the State of Illinois' partner for Medicaid outreach, what's working as the model expands, and what founders building for payers, providers, or public health can borrow from it.
Healthcare's hardest problem isn't the medicine - it's getting hard-to-reach populations to engage with it before chronic illness sets in. It's a problem with significant economic stakes that traditional channels keep failing to solve. Charles will share what it actually takes to make that leap at scale.
What you'll take away
- The platform anatomy - the five layers that make BigHeart different from a telehealth app: community modules, third-party integrations (ADT, eligibility, FHIR), the outreach engine (CES/CHWs + automation), integrated SDOH services, and analytics
- The economic rationale - how preventative, outreach-led care becomes financially viable for payers and states, and why "hard-to-reach" populations are the most valuable problem to solve in US healthcare
- Engagement as the moat - why being able to reach and activate patients is more defensible than the underlying clinical capability
- What replicates across the other 49 states - and what doesn't
- Build vs. buy decisions that shape a platform like this
Who this is for
- Healthcare founders building for payers, providers, or public health
- Product and platform leaders thinking about scale across customers, segments, and geographies
- Operators eyeing US state contracts or Medicaid managed care
- Investors backing digital health, value-based care, or community health
The speaker
Charles Oyibo leads strategy and ecosystem development at BigHeart Consulting. He spent his earlier career at Accenture and most recently at Ernst & Young's Strategy & Transactions practice, where he structured deals and partnered with executives to execute them. At BigHeart, he's building the commercial engine behind a digital health platform that combines community engagement, telehealth, EHR, and analytics - most notably powering Illinois' Medicaid outreach to 1M+ recipients.
About the host
Hosted by Touch4IT, BigHeart's technology partner since 2019. We've built the platform's core infrastructure over the past six years. We're opening this conversation to the Chicago healthcare community because the engagement problem Charles will discuss is, in our view, the most under-architected challenge in US digital health today.
