This practice focuses on healing and exploring the experience of self from being carried in the womb through to taking the first steps. We recreate the profound experience of being in the womb and receiving post-birth care in a loving, supportive way.
Our early life experiences are deeply encoded in our bodies and subconscious minds, especially during non-verbal stages. This ceremony addresses those stages, where experiences—both positive and traumatic—are stored, laying the foundation for our basic trust in the world.
Through re-lulling therapy, we use special sounds reminiscent of the womb to reconnect with these memories, unlocking the sensations held within us. The process is designed to heal traumas such as neglect, abandonment, and emotional pain, providing a nurturing environment where these wounds can be transformed.
Men and women alike are invited to re-experience and heal deep-rooted traumas, especially those stemming from emotional neglect or lack of support. The ceremony also offers a transformative experience for mothers who have faced emotional challenges during pregnancy or in early parenthood.
This unique healing experience can be done one-on-one or in a group using hammocks as cocoons. Participants take on the roles of “mother” and “child,” offering healing and support to each other under the guidance of facilitators. We sometimes invite men to play the role of the “Universal Father,” creating an outer circle of support and protection.
The re-lulling and re-birthing process helps heal modern hospital birth traumas, where spiritual and ancestral guidance may have been lacking. It also helps participants rewire traumatic memories and create new, positive ones, becoming their own nurturer and caretaker.
This practice was created by Victoria Averkieva, a renowned psychologist, and has been described as a life-changing transformational experience by many who have participated.
