"Re/Construction" features abstract paintings and assemblage sculptures by Markus. The artist had his very first show at the Mt. Royal Tavern 10 years ago. Now, thanks in part to the support of its staff and patrons, Markus is a full-time artist with collectors across the United States and in countries as far flung as Australia. The title, "Re/Construction," refers not only to the repurposed materials he uses in his work, but to the experiences, successes and setbacks he has drawn from to construct a new life for himself as an artist. This show will also include photos of the large, outdoor installations he has been commisioned to create.
