April 3rd & 17th – Painting & Drawing
Are you looking to learn the basics of painting and drawing? Join us for introductory sessions to explore fundamental techniques such as line drawing, color mixing, and perspective. Students will be encouraged to create a painting or drawing based on a chosen theme. Themes may include landscape, still life, abstract painting, drawing and painting from memory, and more! Come experiment and have fun.
May 1st and 15th – 3D Art: Cardboard & Foil Sculpture
Do you enjoy constructing things? Have you ever wondered what you can create using household materials like aluminum foil or cardboard? This might be the perfect drop-in course for you! Join us as we explore ways to build objects with foil and cardboard. Play and experimentation are highly encouraged. Students will create their own objects based on a chosen theme. Themes may include functional object-making, abstract sculpture, memory-making, and more.
June 5th – Mixed Media Methods: Collage with Nature
Do you enjoy making collages? Have you ever tried creating a collage with objects found in nature? Join us as we learn to view nature as an art medium. Students will have the opportunity to bring natural items into the studio and create unique collages. Play and experimentation are highly encouraged. Participants will create pieces based on a chosen theme. While students are encouraged to bring their own materials from nature, we will also provide supplies.
This drop-in course does not have any prerequisites. Students from all backgrounds are welcome to participate, and creativity and flexibility are highly encouraged.
