In this course, the instructor will have students paint various scenes/idea, which will then be displayed as one giant mosaic. For example, various different paintings of the Okanagan Lake, the valley, orchards, nature scenes, etc. This will aim to showcase the students' various different styles in a visually stunning way.
Are you detailed oriented? Then this course is a excellent experience to explore the miniature land of art expression! Your will learn basic painting techniques and create a personal piece of artwork on a 4x4 canvas.
Instructor Bio:
Katherine Eggleston is a Canadian born digital artist and painter. She has had experience working in the Video Game Industry, having worked on two separate games. From September, 2013 to September, 2014, she was part a part of Work Studies at The University of British Columbia Okanagan, being the sole artist working on a digital game entitled “Code Age”. Working within the Computer Science Department in aiding to develop a video game centered towards students who wish to learn Computer Coding, she created all the art shown in the current status of the game. In September 2014, she was hired onto another Work Studies, this time creating the art for a set of Mini Games used to help students learn basic Japanese. The project continued after she graduated in June, 2015, and she finished the artwork in summer 2016. The game, now named "Kami No Tabi", was released for download in the Google Play Store, in 2017. In November 2018, she was hired as a 2D Harmony Animator at Yeti Farm Creative, and worked on the second season of Hotel Transylvania, the television series. The season completed in late 2019.
Since 2023, Katherine has been working with Interior Health, British Columbia's Healthcare System, to create info graphics for proper Breastfeeding. She has worked closely with Karen Graham, the Project Coordinator for the Breastfeeding Systems Change Project, and Katherine has created over a dozen images for the project.
In her spare time, Katherine enjoys writing, playing video games, listening to music, and hanging out with her pets and fiancé.
