About this Event

Meet co-author of Exclusion, Exploitation and Extermination: Race Relations in Colonial Queensland, Raymond Evans in conversation with Melanie Myers.

About the book

This is Kay Saunders, Raymond Evan and Kathryn Cronin’s fourth edition of what has become a classic study in our understanding of Australian colonial and race relations history. Originally well ahead of the game in interrogating Queensland's racist past, the book now appears anew to mark its fiftieth anniversary. First published in 1975 during a cresting wave of anti-racist and anti-imperial activism, it has demonstrated across five decades its longevity and relevance as a landmark work.
