Please Join us in celebrating Black History Month and our 4th Year Anniversary with the opening of ‘I’m Black and I’m Proud’ A solo show from art historian and visual artist Val Daughtrey made up of a series of portraits drawing helping to teach our history to the community.

About Valen Daughtrey

Valen Daughtrey is an illustrator and art history enthusiast from the Bronx, New York. He graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in illustration and a minor in art history and English writing. Today he is a student advocate and educator tutoring art history in higher education. His work explores the human experience as a form of reportage through history, portraiture and psychology. His use of composition, texture and color is intended to help create emotions and lead the eyes of viewers to better tell a story. Many of Valen's works incorporate augmented reality which is an immersive experience that further engages his audience.
