2x Grammy Nominee blind singer/songwriter & guitarist Raul Midón brings his unique blend of soul jazz and acoustic guitar to Kuumbwa! Meet Raul Midón, a world class solo, singer/songwriter, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist. He was born and raised in New Mexico to an Argentine Father and African American Mother who died when he was four years old, and is blind since birth. He is celebrating his 14th album, Lost & Found, which is a blend of what he calls “smooth folk,” “alt-pop,” and “jazz.” A master at combining genres, “…his music suggests a three-way fusion of Stevie Wonder, Bobby McFerrin, and José Feliciano,” –New York Times. In December 2023, Midón debuted the album’s first single, an uplifting bluesy, pop song, Keep On Keeping On, on the The Jennifer Hudson Show. Raul Midón has worked with countless industry legends including Bill Withers, Herbie Hancock, and Sting. He was a first call background singer in the 90s, and then in Shakira's band. He toured with Jason Mraz for “The Tour of the Curbside Prophet,” then got a record deal in early 2006. The twice Grammy-nominated Midón debuted as a solo artist on Letterman and appeared twice on Leno, Ferguson, Kimmel shows, Jools Holland in the UK, and One Shot Not with Manu Katche.
