About this Event

The birds of prey that call this province their home are all around us, but how well do we really know them?

The scourge of the skies. We know them well, but what makes them tick? What separates the soaring hawks, enigmatic owls and speedster falcons, and what makes all of them special? Dive into the world of these taloned terrors and come away with a new appreciation for the hunters of the avian world.

This program is hosted by TRCA’s bander in charge and ornithologist Shane Abernethy. Shane has 7 years of ornithological experience and 3 years of banding at the Bird Research Station at TTP. He also produces the popular Feathered Friday series via TRCA Instagram.

This is a seated talk, taking place indoors at the Field Study Centre at Claireville Conservation Area.

Bring your travel mugs, all participants can enjoy complimentary coffee or hot chocolate!

Coffee is generously provided by BirdsnBeans roastery in Etobicoke.
