Rani Rashmoni was born in Halishar on Sept, 28th,1793. Kolkata Explorers (a division of Green Step Tourism) in the year of her 229th birth anniversary presents a Walking Tour which will take you to the palaces of Janbazar. She was one lady who had stood against the British oppression and had sacrificed a lot for the betterment of her subjects. They used to call her Rani Maa. She was Rani Rashmoni. We will trace the rise of the Rashmoni (Das) dynasty from an obscure village in Halisahar to the corridors of power and spiritual thoughts. Find out some interesting facts about the Janbazar Mahal.
