Rangitikei Bush Walks (Easy/Mod / Half-Day Tramp)
DATE: Saturday 13th September
TIME: 10am
MEETING LOCATION: COI car park

COST: $15 (for transport)

This replaces the Tupapakurua Falls tramp, the plan is to have 5 short and easy walks in the Rangitikei area, starting with Sutherland Mangahoe Reserve, then it to Laird's Reserve, and then onto Bruce Park Scenic Reserve. Final walks of the day are at Pryce's Rahui Reserve and Dudding Lake, depending on the time. At Sutherland we will complete the two shorter tracks (Red & Yellow), Lairds, Bruce Park & Duddins are all single loop tracks. At Pryces we will complete the exterior tracks (Yellow & Blue)
FITNESS REQUIREMENT: Most of these walks are mostly flat with only small hills, while Lairds Reserve is a little bit hilly. There can still be some steep areas and uneven ground
DISTANCE: 6-8km approx
ELEVATION GAIN: 80m approx

WHAT TO BRING (*essential items)
*Day pack
*Sturdy walking shoes or tramping boots with good grip
*Drink Bottle - 1-2 litres
*Rain Jacket
*Warm Clothing - wear or pack (can still get cold in summer)
Sun hat or warm beanie – pack one and wear the other
Sunglasses – wear or pack
*Packed lunch and snacks – pack more than you think you'll need
First Aid Kit (if you have one, otherwise leaders will have some)
Money for Ice Cream and/ or a hot drink afterward (optional)
Spare shoes & a change of clothes to leave in cars
TRANSPORT
We use our private vehicles for transport. The event organizers select the Vehicles and drivers before the event. If you would like to take your vehicle, please email ASAP so the organizer knows your vehicle is available. We prefer drivers for our events to have attended a few events before driving and to have held a full NZ driver's license for 2 years
