Langston Golf Course isn’t just a place to play — it’s history.

🏌🏾‍♂️ Opened in 1939 as the first course in D.C. built for Black golfers.

🏆 Named after John Mercer Langston — the first Black Virginian elected to Congress.

🥊 Legends like Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, and Lee Elder (the first Black golfer to compete in the Masters) teed it up here.

👑 Birthplace of the Royal Golf Club (Men) and Wake-Robin Golf Club (Women) — the oldest Black golf clubs in America.

✊🏾 Their advocacy led to the desegregation of D.C.’s public golf courses by 1941.
