Jazz Vivace proudly presents Randy Brecker and Ada Rovatti as part of the Fall Jazz Series.

Jazz trumpeter and composer Randy Brecker has helped shape the sound of jazz, R&B, and rock for more than four decades. His trumpet and flugelhorn performances have graced hundreds of albums by a wide range of artists from James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, and Parliament/Funkadelic to Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, Jaco Pastorius, and Frank Zappa.

Italian native Ada Rovatti started playing saxophone in high school after years of classical piano training. After winning a scholarship from Berklee College of Music in Italy she divided herself between Boston where she studied with Joe Viola, George Garzone, and Italy where she was working in Big Bands with guest artists such as Phil Woods, Lee Konitz, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker.

After spending one year in Paris touring Europe and Africa, she moved to New York City. She has performed in important festivals such as JVC in NYC Rochester Jazz Festival, IAJE, Detroit Jazz Fest, Montreal Jazz Fest, San Francisco Jazz Fest, and the NorthSea Jazz Fest appearing and performing with an impressive and diverse list of artists and bands such as Mike Stern, John McLaughlin, Anne Ducros, Bob Mintzer, Victor Bailey, Joanne Brackeen, Tony Levin, John McLaughlin, James Moody, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Heath Patti Austin, Joe Bonamassa, and many others.

In 2003 she released her first two CDs as a bandleader with the Elephunk Band and her quartet with guests: Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, and Don Alias.

Ada was part of the Grammy winner CD by Randy Brecker –“34th N Lex” and on the acclaimed CD of John McLaughlin “Industrial Zen” and also appeared in the movie ‘Mona Lisa Smile’ featuring Julia Roberts

As a band leader she has released 5 Cds: Ada Rovatti & The Elephunk Band – For Rent (2003), Under The Hat (2003) Airbop (2006) Green Factor (2009), and Disguise (2014).

$10 drink minimum charged per person in the party, per set, if the total for beverages purchased by the party does not meet the minimum.
