For his upcoming exhibition in the Main Gallery artist Ram Samocha presents a series of energetic and expressive drawings. Many were created in a short period of time in front of and sometimes in collaboration with a live audience and made with colour pencils wax crayons chalk acrylic and ink on stone paper. Drawings have also been worked back into using metalpoint shifting the centre of his work from a more primal drawing action to a rich and layered new painting.
Exhibition open from 2 - 24 July in the Main Gallery. Join us at the opening Friday 1 July 18.00 - 20.00. Ram will also deliver an artist talk on Saturday 23 July 12.00 - 13.00.
Alongside his solo exhibition Ram Samocha will also curate Draw to Perform a drawing performance festival that will run in the gallery space over two weekends. It will include live performances and workshops from a variety of artists. Some events require booking see on the Draw to Perform website.
