“One Voice For Georgia Companion Animals” as we host a
RALLY TO STOP GA’S PET OVERPOPULATION CRISIS
Saturday, November 2nd 2024
About this Event
We are asking for our state to provide more money to spay and neuter Georgia’s pets because taxpayers & nonprofits should not have to carry the burden of this overpopulation crisis created by humans!
We emphasize SPAY & NEUTER for all dogs & cats, and advocate that no dog or cat be adopted from a shelter or rescue in GA without *first* being spayed/neutered.
We look forward to joining forces with likeminded advocates to work toward stopping the senseless killing of healthy, adoptable pets for space! GA is currently in the top 5 of all states for euthanizing healthy, adoptable companion animals.
We cannot rescue, foster or adopt our way out of this crisis. Many Animal Controls are no longer picking up strays, owner surrenders are at their highest levels and a large amount of pet owners are unable to afford spay/neuter surgeries. Backyard breeders continue to put a huge burden on shelters run with taxpayer dollars. Nonprofits beg for donations from those same taxpayers to try to rescue these unwanted animals. It's insanity.
We desperately need the attention of Governor Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp, and our lawmakers, to fix this homeless animal epidemic.
