About this Event
***The Climate Collective Meetup Group takes on monthly climate actions (That's what we do!)***
For the month of August, our action is a “Rally to Protect the Echo Park Community from Uncapped Oil Wells)". We will show up and support the leaders of this rally: Sunrise Movement Los Angeles and Vista Hermosa Community Group.
The purpose of the rally is two-fold:
To raise awareness about uncapped, orphan oil wells that are throughout the community that leak harmful gases that endanger the community health and safety.
To call upon Decro Development Corp to stop building homes on top of uncapped wells!
Tenants, the community, and general public need to know about the danger of uncapped oil wells left unattended on these properties. So let's make some noise about the risk that the City and Developers are placing them in.
