On Sunday 19 October from 11am at Parliament Lawns in Nipaluna/Hobart we will gather together, on the Stolen Land of the Palawa peoples, to fight for a hopeful and caring Lutruwita, where Treaty is respected, where no-one is left behind, and everyone can live in abundance and harmony, no matter the circumstances of your birth.
Every single human being deserves safe, secure and sustainable housing for life. The millionaire landlords, the estate agent empires, the corrupt corporate builders, have orchestrated a housing crisis which is destroying lives and dividing working class communities.
Blaming the poorest and most vulnerable in our country is not the answer.
The answer is fighting back to guarantee enough quality public housing, secure a decisive rent cap to end tenant exploitation, ban no cause evictions to stop people from ending up on the streets, and create a society that will never again allow housing to be a for profit monopoly.
The answer is supporting the Palawa community in their lifelong struggle for Treaty and for the return of all stolen lands.
Please bring positive banners/signs/flags to show solidarity and drums/horns/voices to make a sweet harmony.
(The so-called march for so-called Australia may also be on at the same time in the same area so please do practice the upmost safety and security for you, your friends and your families.)
