Rally & Protest for Shacoby Kenny | South Bay J*il
About this Event
RALLY & PROTEST AT SOUTH BAY J*il
Organized by West Ward & Community Advocates
The Massachusetts State Medical Examiner officially ruled the in-custody death of 32-year-old Shacoby Kenny a homicide following an altercation with correctional officers inside South Bay House of Correction.
Over 28,000 of us saw the update—now we are moving from online conversation to real-world organization. Join West Ward, community organizers, and local advocates as we stand together outside South Bay J*il.
OUR 5 CORE DEMANDS:
1. Protect Our Brothers & Sisters: Immediate policy overhauls, body-worn camera mandates, and medical emergency protocols so this never happens to another person in custody.
2. Legislative Reform: Fast-track state legislation for independent J*il inspection and transparency.
3. Courtroom Accountability: An immediate, clear timeline from prosecutors regarding criminal charges for the officers involved.
4. Permanent Officer Termination: Complete firing and permanent removal of involved officers from contact with incarcerated individuals.
5. Independent External Oversight: End the practice of corrections facilities "self-investigating" in-custody deaths.
