We are very happy to announce our 59th Raga Revival will be held at Artspace in downtown Raleigh on Dec 11th 2022 at 11:30am
Artspace is located at
201 Davie St
Parking is available on the corner of Davie and Person st. There is also free street parking on sundays.
NC Raga Revival is a monthly concert series showcasing the Music the Indian Diaspora and collaborations with other World Music Artists.
We are excited to announce a triple feature in the following order

Artist Bios:
Dhaval Parikh began learning Bansuri from Sri Hemendra Dixit (top graded all India radio artist) in Ahmedabad-India during his college year. After moving to the US and starting a family he resumed his studies with the help if Daniel Chambo .He continues his music learning journey with guidance from Debopriyo Chatterjee. His performances are focused around Hindustani classical and light/semi classical music. He has been accompanying sugam sangeet singers and bands as a flautist.
Prathamesh Deshpande is currently learning from maestro Shri Aditya Kalyanpur,disciple of Ustad Zakir Hussain and Ustad Alla Rakha, and has been learning tabla for the past 17 years. He is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from NC State University. He holds Sangeet Visharad- Tabla and has played for various concerts and occasions in India and the US for Hindustani Classical and Carnatic music. Prathamesh has also played for the Chamber Orchestra at NC State University Music Department and Raleigh Civic Symphony Orchestra. He is an active learner of music and aims to grow his career in both Mechanical Engineering and music.
Tommy Quinn is a NC based guitarist who has played in a variety of musical groups of many genres during his 20 years playing the instrument. He loves music in all its forms and is constantly searching to broaden his musical background and experience. He is currently active in the bands Vacant Company (Post-Hardcore) and Tumbao (Latin fusion). Outside of the musical world he is a professional electrical engineer and enjoys surfing and the outdoors.
Logan Maxwell is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in the Raleigh area. He began studying piano at an early age, but soon switched to alto saxophone as band classes started in Grade 6. A musician by hobby instead of profession, he splits his time between his engineering career and the progressive rock band Zephyranthes, the punk band Vacant Company, and the Latin Jazz band Tumbao. He currently performs on electric bass and saxophone. He has been studying indian classical music and the sitar for seven years.

Michael Hawthorne explores sound in his personal and professional life as an audio programmer. Whether he's modeling virtual acoustical spaces for Playstation games or filling physical acoustical spaces with aural texture, Michael's passion for sound is a driving force in his life.


Sinchana Upadhya is a 12 year old who has been learning Kathak, an Indian classical dance form, for 3 years. She is a disciple of Vid. Seema Viswanath in Nritya Māyānanda School of Arts. She has also been learning Taal Vidhya for 2 years from Guruji Pt. Divyang Vakil in Taalim School of Indian Music. She has been learning Hindustani Vocal Music for a year from Mrs. Sejal Vaidya in Sejal Vaidya School of Music. She plays 3 musical instruments; the piano, flute, and violin. She’s been learning piano for 7 years from Mrs. Evangeline Metts and Mrs. Donna Metts Fain. She is certified by the National Piano Guild Exam. She recently started learning the flute and violin. In her free time she likes to draw, paint, and play basketball.


Sanvi Asaigoli is a 13 year old who has been learning kathak, a classical dance form for 3 1/2 years from Guru Seema Vishwanath at Nritya Māyānanda School of Arts. She plays Carnatic flute, piano and ukulele. She has been playing western flute for the last three years and really enjoys it. She’s been learning Carnatic Vocals for almost 6 years and Yakshagana Bhagavatha for 2 years. Yakshagana is a traditional south indian theater folk dance-drama accompanied by "Bhagavatham" unique vocal music. She also enjoys public speaking, art, playing volleyball, crocheting, and sleeping :)


Amrita Lokesh is 14 years old. She has been learning Bharatanatyam for over 6 years, and is currently a student of Mrs. Seema Vishwanath from Nritya Māyānanda School of Arts. She has also been learning Hindustani Classical Music for over 7 years from Mrs. Anita Kulkarni at SaReGaMa Music Academy. She formerly learnt Ballet for 7 years, but recently decided to go forward with just Bharatnatyam. She enjoys both styles of dance, learning from her teachers, and practicing to perform on stage. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, art, and playing badminton.

Purna Raghav is 13 years old music lover who has been learning Bharatnatyam from the Nritya MayaNanda school of arts, for the past 5 years under the tutelage of Guru Smt.Seema Vishwanath.
She also learns Carnatic classical vocals under Ms Lakshmi Maddali and
The Saraswathi Veena under Ms. Gowri Sreenivas,NadaLaya School of music.
She has been playing the trumpet at her school band since 2 years. Being a music lover she enjoys all genres of music and firmly believes that’s her training will certainly help her to apply this knowledge in music and dance with respect to Shruthi and TaaLa. She has recently developed an interest in gardening, volunteering at various events and also in art.


Priyanka Prabhushankar is a 12 year old and has been learning Kathak for 7 years and Bharatanatyam for 6 years at Nritya MayaNanda School of Arts from her Guru Seema Vishwanath. She has also been learning Hindustani Music from Mrs Sejal Vaidya at Sejal Vaidya School of Music and this will be her second year singing with the Carnage Chorus Group. Outside of dance and music she enjoys volunteering, playing tennis, playing the piano, swimming and more.

Anitha Sethuram has been learning the wonderful art form bharatanatyam from around almost 11 years from various Gurus -Smt Nirmala Manjunath,Smt Sumana Ranjalkar,Smt Radhika Unnithan and currently being trained under the guidance of Guru Smt Seema Viswanath.Apart from dance she loves playing cricket and currently a part of Triangle Cricket League.She loves to explore Nature and also reading historical books.

Sowmya Aji has been learning Kathak from Guru Seema Vishwanath from three years now. She used to be a Bharatanatyam dancer, a student of Guru B R Sundar Kumar. She holds a Vidwath title in the field and has performed at several festivals in Bengaluru, India. She danced actively for 14 years and choreographed dance elements for theatre as well. She worked with eminent dancer Prathibha Prahlad to organize national level dance and music festivals for Prasiddha Foundation.
