WHAT is FRINGE?
Fringe theatre is theatre that is produced outside of the main theatre institutions, and that is often small-scale and non-traditional in style or subject matter. The first Fringe began in 1947 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and now Fringe Festivals are a way for independent artists to self-produce and present work not typically featured at their local theaters.
