What if making new friends as an adult was actually easy?
What if there was a place where you could walk in on your own, grab a drink, join a table and spend an evening talking about life, the universe and, frankly, anything?
Welcome to the Raise Your Glass Social Club.
A new monthly gathering for curious, friendly people who enjoy great conversation, interesting ideas and meeting new people.
No networking.
No lectures.
No awkward icebreakers.
Just relaxed conversations with welcoming people over your favourite drink.
Whether you're new to York, looking to expand your social circle, or simply fancy an evening that's a little different from the usual night out, we'd love you to join us.
What to Expect
We'll gather in one of York's fantastic bars for an informal evening of conversation.
Throughout the evening we'll introduce a handful of thought-provoking questions to spark discussion, but there are no right answers and no pressure to speak. Join in as much or as little as you like.
You'll have the chance to meet a variety of people, share stories, hear different perspectives and hopefully leave with a few new friends.
Every month will have a different conversation theme, so no two evenings will ever be quite the same.
Your Ticket
Tickets are £10 per person.
Every penny from ticket sales goes into the evening's bar kitty, helping us support our fantastic host venue while keeping the club community-led.
We're not here to make money from the Social Club, we're here to bring people together.
Drinks are purchased from the venue as normal.
Who Is It For?
Anyone aged 18+ who enjoys good company.
Come on your own.
Come with friends.
Come because you're curious.
There's no expectation to drink alcohol - soft drinks, alcohol-free options, tea and coffee are just as welcome.
The conversation matters far more than what's in your glass.
The Format
7:00 pm – Arrive, grab a drink and meet people
7:30 pm – Welcome and first conversation
8:15 pm – Refreshment break
8:30 pm – New tables, new conversations
9:30 pm – Wrap-up (with plenty of time to continue chatting afterwards)

Life gets busy.

Making new friends as adults isn't always easy.
We believe good conversations can change your week and sometimes even your life.
Raise Your Glass exists to bring people together through shared experiences and meaningful connection.
The Social Club is our simplest expression of that idea.

This is our founding gathering in York.
Our ambition is to build a welcoming monthly community here before helping other towns and cities across the UK launch their own Raise Your Glass Social Clubs.
