About this Event
The first Raise a Glass to Kick ALS’s Ass was held in 2015. Becky Kidd founded the event to celebrate the Emory ALS Clinic team – and of course to have a party! She was able to host the event in 2016 and 2017 and was in the planning stages of the 2018 event when she lost her battle with ALS.
We’ve wanted to bring Raise a Glass to Kick ALS’s Ass back in Becky’s memory and at last we are making it happen at the Jekyll Brewing taproom on Friday, October 1, 2021. Your $25 ($21+tax&fees) ticket gets you two drinks and appetizers. There will be a 50/50 raffle, other raffle prizes, and games, as you enjoy the brewery and a fun evening with friends. All monies raised benefit the Emory ALS Center.
We’ll also celebrate Becky for the amazing friend she was to all of us. Her message from that first event in 2015 was how she lived each day: "We call ourselves team 5 Smooth Stones for the story of David & Goliath. I met my Goliath when I was diagnosed with ALS in January 2012. ALS is a part of my life, but I refuse to allow it to become my life. Every day for all of us is a gift, an honor and opportunity to live with joy...ALS does not have to change that. We will live with Courage, Confidence, Preparation and Trust until Victory has been achieved."
