Join us for a special Dance Photography Workshop with a ballet dancer & contemporary ballet dancer, performing dance moves in the rain!
This event is for photographers of all levels intending to practice or perfecting photographing dancers as they perform in the rain.
EVENT DETAILS:
Date: July 25, 2026, Saturday!
Time: 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Place: FD Studio, Metro 5, 1003 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211.
Duration: Total duration 2 hrs.
Tickets: Limited Early Bird tickets for $110 until July 15th , General admission $125.
Space is limited, please book your spot soon! Please bring your own photo equipment. Please note that there won't be any instruction or any instructor. We expect the attending photographers to have prior knowledge of photographing and try this workshop with dancers to practice or for a new experience or to build their portfolios for dance photography.

A little bit about the dancers:
Rachel Caron: Rachel is a dancer, choreographer, actor & MC here in NYC. Professionally trained in the styles of tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, musical theater, Irish hard & soft shoe, samba, cha cha & salsa. She has performed with multiple companies such as Rumbamena (Latin), GPC Entertainment (Commercial Styles) & previously toured the world with The Young Americans, educating & performing in more than 10 different countries. She recently made her Off Broadway debut in the immersive spectacle, “Dreams of Dracula” & was touring around the USA with the Taylor Swift tribute group “Let’s Sing Taylor”. When not dancing or creating, you can find her hosting the show at the Stardust Diner in Times Square. @rachelcaronperformer
Tori Hey: Tori Hey is an NYC-based Ballet Dancer. She graduated from The AileySchool/Fordham University with a BFA in Dance where she was awarded the Agnes Varis Scholarship and the Ailey Artistic Scholarship. Tori has performed across the country with companies such as Arch Ballet, Ballets With A Twist, Neville Dance Theater, and The Francesca Harper Project at prestigious venues including The Joyce Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Park Avenue Armory. She has made appearances in New York Fashion Week and on television shows including “Etoile,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” and “Succession.” Tori was recognized in Pointe Magazine’s Standout Performances of 2025. She is a dance adjudicator, and an American Ballet Theater (ABT) Affiliate Teacher to students of all ages. Follow Tori Hey on instagram @thetorihey for more information.
What fun to create a space to shoot some cool ballet and Contemporary Indian & Bollywood dance moves with these beautiful pro dancers. Kayla & Prishita will dance short pieces from different dance segments. They will perform, repeat, pause and sometimes pose. We repeat segments so that you can try out different techniques, check your shots and make changes, if any, switch angles, etc.
The rain room has Large Black Cyc wall & Rain Features. With the Black Cyc Wall, flash use is highly recommended. No more than three flashes per photographer. Note that your flashes will need to be remotely triggered. Optical triggering just won't work with many people trying to take pictures simultaneously.
All attendees are requested to arrive at the studio by 12:15 p.m. to set up. Workshop will commence promptly at 12:30 p.m.
Model release forms will be provided on set.
