Raincheck: A Cincinnati Bonfire for Contemplative Resistance

Join us for an evening where Geez contributors, local artists, and community activists will share their visual and written work surrounding themes of faith and cultural resistance! Participants will get to experience a curated line-up of poems and art and are encouraged to make a yearly subscription to Geez magazine as well as subscribe to Geez’s newsletter to become a contributor.

This gathering is hosted by Chris La Rue- a Geez magazine enthusiast, theology student, and co-director of the Hive: A Center for Contemplation, Art, and Action in the Northside neighborhood of Cincinnati. The Wesley Foundation of Cincinnati has generously offered to sponsor this event.

Details: The gathering will take place in the backyard of Chris’ home in Clifton. The backyard is spacious and well shaded, with a large garden, tree fort, and fire pit. Folks are encouraged to participate in a potluck meal. S’more’s will be provided for people around the fire.

Please be aware that going to the backyard requires moving down a steep driveway, which could present difficulty for anyone with mobility challenges. Address will be provided upon your rsvp, along with further details.
