Navin Noronha: Live and Gay
Navin is India’s first openly gay comedian and makes sure to represent the community as much as he can, through comedy. From monogamy and marriage as a heteronormative concept to pride month and the #MeToo movement, Noronha talks about it all. Through his podcast ‘Keeping It Queer’ and live shows, Navin shares his perspective about different things as a queer man in India.
Through this act, Navin Noronha: Live and Gay, we will see Navin embracing the angry, ranting homosexual as he enters his 30s. The many things that bother and amuse him end up being the target of his jokes. Navin will talk about queer dating, coming out, finding love and acceptance and hopes to contribute to a world that is inclusive and accepting of different identities and sexualities than it was a few years back.Navin will be joined by Joshua Trott, a stand comedian and host.

Thaalam - A Theatrical Treat
Alex Mathew, who identifies as queer, is one of India’s popular drag artists. Alex has been performing as a drag queen for close to a decade. Through his performance as Mayamma, Alex aims to tackle the stigma surrounding the LGBTQ+ community and empower people within the community and outside it to speak up against the abuse.

Thaalam is a theatre play where the characters are played by three drag queens and a drag king. The central theme of the play will revolve around a queer family and the importance it serves in a society that shuns queer people. The performance will integrate Bollywood, South Indian and Pop numbers and hopes to deliver the message of inclusion through entertainment.

The event is curated by a team of experts including allies, practitioners, members of the community and is aimed at creating an awareness on the unique challenges of the community and demystify perceptions and biases with respect to gender identity and sexuality. This event provides an inclusive platform for members of the community to tell their stories through various experiential performances.
