Concept:
This evening of dance, music, poetry, and speeches is a gathering of queer artists and activists from the Berlin scene. We each express our queer identities through our creative and political work, and through this encounter stand in solidarity with our LGBTQI+ siblings in Afghanistan. We believe that in sharing our work through this platform, we demand to be seen and heard. We stand for our community and continue insisting on the acknowledgement of our human rights.
We ask each audience member to donate what they can, at least between 5-10€. All of these proceeds will be donated to Rainbow Railroad. We ask you to come witness this bold and authentic expression of our queer creative work, and to stand with us against the hate and oppression our community continues to experience, here in Berlin, as well as everywhere in the world.
About Rainbow Railroad:
Rainbow Railroad is a global not-for-profit organization that helps LGTBQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. In a time when there are more displaced people than ever before, LGBTQI+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. These factors either displace them in their own country or prevent them from escaping harm.
As a result of Rainbow Railroad, more LGBTQI+ individuals will be able to access lives free from persecution.
