Rainbow Community Places Presents: Comedy Benefit

Join us on Sunday, September 29 at 7:30 pm for a hilarious evening of sketch, standup and musical comedy in support of Rainbow Community Places. 

The comedy show will be directed by music director and comedian Randy Vancourt and hosted by renowned comedian/actor/writer Martha Chaves (Just for Laughs, We're Funny That Way, CBC). Martha Chaves is an internationally-known Nicaraguan-Canadian comic who performs in English, Spanish, French and Italian, and who recently hosted the 2024 ACTRA Awards. 

Our program will showcase some of Toronto's best comedy artists, including Peter Wildman (The Frantics), Robert Watson (Gay AF Comedy), Kelly Zemnickis (CBC's Laugh Out Loud), Rush Kazi (Just For Laughs, Sketchfest), Elvira Kurt (PopCultured, Spin Off, My Fabulous Gay Wedding), and more.

Rainbow Community Places is a new registered charity created to take over the Toby's Place drop-in dinner program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and the Dorothy's Place drop-in lunch program for 2SLGBTQIA+ older adults started by Birchcliff Bluffs United Church. This is a good news story! The programs have outgrown BBUC's capacity to manage them.

Rainbow Community Places, with a dedicated Board of Directors and staff team, offers a new leadership model to support these programs as they grow and offer new programs. This comedy show is a benefit to raise the funds Rainbow Community Places needs to take over and run the programs. We thank you for your support. 

Accessibility notes:

- Masks are strongly encouraged, and will be available at entrance for patrons.

- EEURM has a ramp entrance, and an elevator. This event will be on the main floor, and there is a single accessible washroom on the main level.

- There will be sound amplification during the event and no strobe lighting.
