About this Event
Join staff from the Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District and Indy Urban Acres for a workshop to learn about native plants for rain gardens and help plant a new expanded rain garden at the farm! The workshop will be held at the 5 acre Indy Urban Acres farm site adjacent to the greenhouse. The workshop will include the following topics:
- What are rain gardens and how they function for stormwater management
- Native plant selection for rain gardens
- Rain garden planting activity
- Information on upcoming workshops
- Distribution of native plant resources
The program is funded with the generous support of grants from the National Association of Conservation Districts, the Indiana State Department of Agriculture's Clean Water Indiana program and funding from the City of Indianapolis Department of Public Works.
Attendees will be limited to 25 registrants.

When: 9:00-12 Noon on Friday 9/26. Wear appropriate outdoor attire for being outside and light planting work! Drinking water will be provided along with gloves and planting supplies.
