This illustrated talk sets out to answer some key questions: Why is the station where it is? What broader historical changes led to its creation and development? What impacts has it had on the city of Preston physical, economic and social? They also highlight specific events related to the station that are of wider historic significance.
One brings together Lancashire Archives, Community Rail Lancashire, Avanti, the Friends of Winckley Square and UCLAN.
Three undergraduate students from UCLan, Emily, Josh and Christina, have chosen to focus on Preston Railway Station as the theme for their Community History Project.
