Trains Opening Day in Valparaiso at Gabis Arboretum at PNW
Come enjoy G-scale trains as they run through 3000 feet of track winding through rocky outdoor landscape, miniature vignettes and waterfalls. then stay and enjoy a hike.
A full carload is $10 to enter Gabis Arboretum to enjoy the 300 acres and 7 miles of trails. The cost for the Railway Garden is then $3 per person and kids under 5 are free.
There will be a variety of activities including free trees, live animal encounters, arts and craft table, and golf cart tours.
Local ceramics artist Emily Castella will be displaying her creations throughout the garden from 10-12 pm and Emily will be available for a book signing at this time as well. Emily's book beautifully combines ceramic art and nature.
Trains run from 10-3 on May 2, 2026 and thereafter from 10 am to 3 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through the last weekend in October, weather permitting.
